![]() - Truth - Honor - Wisdom - Integrity - Knowledge Real Martial Arts are based on Character. Without Character training would be without structure, and abound with injury. Without Character how could your instructors trust you, to react with the correct response under the pressure of a self defense situation. Martial Arts can teach us how to get along in society and only use our skill when it is really needed. Avoid is the higher learning, rather than any confrontation. You are what you practice. Want to be good? Start by coming to class. We reserve the right to dismiss from Muso Bugei Kai any student we feel does not follow the rules listed and the etiquette. Rudeness is not tolerated and shows poor character. Attitude Come to class with a open mind. Come to class to learn, practice at home if possible. The beginners mind is humble and courteous at all times. Do not show anger or emotion. It is better to do one thing well, than a lot of things poorly. Knowing a little of this and that is a sure way to learn nothing. Never criticize other schools, students or Instructors, ever. Don’t ask to be promoted, that is a sure way to stay the same belt for a long time. Do not discuss private matters in class. Do it in private. Put your tuition in a envelope and put your name on the outside. Pick up your receipt after class. Money should not be a part of class. Safety We as students are training in a Martial Art, therefore we are directly responsible for our actions in class. Your actions will affect all students in class. Inspect your weapons before every practice for wear or repair. Ask an instructor to double check your inspection. Never carry your weapons in a haphazard careless manner. Do not enter the training floor unless you have received permission, to the attention of the instructor. Control your weapons at all times, no exceptions. Stop, look, and listen when the instructor is explaining, or teaching technique in class. Do not lean your staff against the wall, lay in down or put in in a rack. Keep your finger and toenails trimmed Attend class in a clean uniform and clean body. Long hair should be tied back before class starts. No shoes on the training floor. There are exceptions for special situations. Show courtesy and bow before you enter the training area. Be aware of those already on the floor and give them your attention and room to continue. If you need to approach the training are with a class in progress, wait at the edge of the training area for the instructor to acknowledge you. No Gum, jewelry, food or drinks etc. in the training area. Always practice courtesy during practice and when addressing anyone in the dojo. Please call and inform an instructor if you are unable to attend class. White uniforms are worn by all new students. At first rank students may be allowed to wear all black uniform. Only Renshi Interns can mix black and white uniforms. Do not demonstrate (show off) you Martial Art in public without permission. (This does not include self defense situations.) Never attend class under the influence of drug or alcohol, you will be ask to leave. Do not practice any Bunkai (combative applications) without the presence of a Senior Instructor. These guide lines promote a safe training environment for all students. Restrictions In The Dojo Please do not wear shoes on the floor we train on. You may seek permission to wear shoes in class from the Senior Instructor if needed. (safety requires a certain type of shoe) Shoes should be neatly lined up outside the front door. Do not wear jewelry of any kind. Wedding ring bands only, are tolerated but should be removed if possible. Do not touch the equipment in the racks unless you have permission from the instructor In charge. The weapons in the racks have owners. Put the pads for kicking, and the hanging bags, back in their storage place. Stretch before class, don’t just stand around. This is your time to train, use it. Do not talk to someone that is watching class, while you are in class. Focus on your training. Don’t come and go off the training area, get permission and the attention of the instructor. |
